Job Description

Brayton has been the main video editor at Iron House Studios for a long time. He is great at editing, but spending too much time editing keeps him away from clients and business growth. This new role is meant to support him and help the company grow.

The company is looking for a creative video editor who can watch interview footage and quickly understand the story behind it. They want someone who can edit videos, find extra short clips from the footage, and suggest new creative ideas.

Most videos are short, between 30 seconds and 3 minutes. The content mainly includes interviews, business storytelling, thought leadership videos, and branded social media content for B2B companies. The focus is on authentic storytelling and building trust with audiences.

Working Hours

You will not need to track your hours. The work will start at around 15–20 hours per month. The company already has regular clients and ongoing projects, with opportunities for more work as the business grows.

  • Someone who only edits what is requested without looking for more creative opportunities.

Ideal Candidate

You should:

  • Understand emotional storytelling and pacing.
  • Know how to create videos that keep people watching.
  • Work independently without needing constant supervision.
  • Spot extra content opportunities in footage.
  • Accept feedback professionally and use it to improve the work.

Main Responsibilities

Video Editing

  • Edit short-form videos (30 seconds to 3 minutes).
  • Create stories from interviews and unscripted footage.
  • Find extra clips and social media content opportunities.
  • Color grade and improve video quality.
  • Handle audio cleanup and sound design.
  • Add captions, graphics, and lower thirds.
  • Choose suitable music for videos

Project Management & Communication

  • Manage tasks in Asana.
  • Upload videos for review in Wipster.
  • Keep files organized and properly named.
  • Communicate through Slack during US business hours.
  • Meet deadlines consistently.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of professional video editing experience.
  • A strong portfolio with real client work.
  • Experience editing short-form social media content.
  • Skills in color grading, audio editing, and motion graphics.
  • Good English communication skills.
  • Ability to work during US business hours.
  • Legally allowed to work with a US-based company.

Job Summary
